There are some negative factors that lose the most resale value on resale of watch, for instance, watches that are designed with precious metals or stones usually devalue over the years. Even the price reduces on the resale of watches if the serial numbers have been removed form the lowest rung of the resale ladder.
At times watch companies come up with certain bottom of the line models, which may have a brand name but don’t have come with high resale value. Some discounts are customarily available at the resale prices which are usually based on the retail selling price. Sometimes watch companies adulterate the value of such watches by selling them in bulk. Even the watch owner considers to sale his/her watch at a ‘rare’ edition with having a high resale value. Some watchmakers release replica watches of brand names in a different version. That is why the best brands usually add a moderate 'exclusivity' premium to the prices of their mechanical watches. Even in this stage the mechanical versions still has command over the good resale value. Also sometimes there are watches that sport ‘remarkable’ serial numbers, such as the date of manufacture of the watch or numbers with interesting.
